Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® staff prepared, submitted, and secured a $7,500 Placemaking Grant from the National Association of REALTORS®. Placemaking Grants fund state and local REALTOR® association-led projects that create new, outdoor public gathering spaces and destinations in a community on unused or underused sites.

Staff worked closely with the City of Easton to identify a project tied to the city’s Waterfront Conceptual Master Plan completed in 2025. The grant will fund the installation of three bench swings in a park owned by the City that also lies within Delaware Canal State Park and serves as Easton’s trailhead to the 165-mile Delaware & Lehigh (D&L) Trail.

The project will immediately enhance an underutilized green space while providing a scenic view of the dam at the intersection point of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. The City previously piloted two of these bench swings at nearby Scott Park, where the community response has been overwhelmingly positive.
