The Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® appointed Asher Schiavone as the Director of Government Affairs on July 8, 2024.

Schiavone is responsible for representing the Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® before legislators. His tasks include developing and executing annual plans for the Government Affairs, Political Action and Diversity and Community Involvement committees, monitoring real estate related legislative issues, and lobbying elected officials.

Before starting at the Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS®, Schiavone served for 10 years as the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Bethlehem / Bethlehem Economic Development Corp. His role consisted of helping to find available space for prospective companies; managing Pi: Partnership for Innovation, an affordable incubator space for early-stage innovative startups, and the Southside Bethlehem Keystone Innovation Zone, which provides financial resources and assistance to early-stage startup companies; and overseeing the day-to-day operations of various other economic development programs.

Schiavone received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University. He also minored in General Business.

Matthew Marks, the association’s previous Government Affairs Director for nearly 10 years, accepted the position of District Director for State Senator Nick Miller (D-14). Miller is a former REALTOR® and was an active member of the association.
