Easton City Council in February proposed the Landlord Engagement Program, which would have required residential rental landlords to complete annual training as a condition of renewing their annual rental registration license.

Staff and leadership with the Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® (GLVR) worked collaboratively with the City to help shape a voluntary version of the program that was ultimately adopted. Under the new structure, the annual fee will increase from $25 to $50, with a $25 discount for landlords who participate in the program. In addition, GLVR has offered to provide expertise and resources through the Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy to support the City in developing program content.
